INSURANCE

British Trust Conservation Volunteers [BTCV] offers associate group membership at £30 per year. BTCV have a special category for Cemetery Friends.  Public Liability Insurance of £5 million or £10 million is available plus personal injury cover, tools  and buildings/land cover.  Members using chain saws and similar power tools are required to obtain a certificate of competency.  The group policy is with Zurich.

The premium cover varies if powered tools or chainsaws are used and the number of volunteer days in one year.

National Council Voluntary Organisations [NCVO] also offers insurance to its members. NCVO membership is free to groups with an annual turnover of less than £50,000.
